Cell Salt #9: Nat Mur (Sodium Chloride)

Overview: Introduced by Hahnemann, sodium chloride is one of the most abundant inorganic salts in the human body, second only to calcium phosphate. This is significant, considering that our bodies are composed of about 70% water, which would be ineffective without sodium chloride. This salt is essential for utilizing water in bodily functions and for removing waste. A deficiency in sodium chloride disrupts the body's water balance, preventing it from performing its necessary roles.

In cases of sunstroke, a lack of sodium chloride can lead to moisture being drawn from other areas, especially the nape of the neck, which can exert pressure on the brain and result in serious or even fatal consequences. Sodium chloride can effectively and quickly relieve the discomfort associated with sunstroke.

Each of the twelve inorganic salts has a unique role, akin to a brick mason or carpenter who creates structures from raw materials. Just as a mason builds with bricks and mortar, or a carpenter with wood, inorganic salts have the power to shape organic matter and sustain life’s chemistry.

Symptoms and Conditions: Symptoms typically worsen in the morning, during cold weather, or in a saline environment, with relief often occurring in the evening. Complaints can arise following excessive use of harmful drugs and may manifest periodically at regular intervals.
