Cell Salt #10: Nat Phos (Sodium Phosphate)

Overview: Acidity is an ever-present factor in the body, often manifesting through uncomfortable symptoms, regardless of the condition's name. While the body contains both alkaline and acidic components, acid deficiencies do not typically occur, as acids are organic and usually present in sufficient amounts when proper nutrition is maintained. Just as a proper balance of calcium phosphate is essential for integrating albumen into bones and tissues, having an adequate amount of sodium phosphate is vital for working with acids to form new compounds. Therefore, rather than describing issues as an “excess of acid,” it’s more accurate to say there is a “deficiency in sodium phosphate.”

When there’s an imbalance in the alkaline salts in gastric juice, it can lead to the development of ferments that disrupt digestion and irritate the stomach lining. This can result in thick bile and conditions like bilious diarrhea or other bilious disorders. In these cases, sodium sulfate may also need to be administered, even though sodium phosphate could have helped prevent these issues. It’s clear that adverse symptoms often stem from a lack of specific inorganic salts.
