Libra is associated with an alkaline cell-salt derived from bone ash or created by neutralizing orthophosphoric acid with sodium carbonate. The word "Libra" is Latin for scales or balance. Sodium phosphate (Natrum phosphate) plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance between acids and the normal fluids of the human body.
Acids are organic compounds that can be chemically broken down into simpler elements, disrupting the balance that defines them. A certain level of acid is naturally present in the blood, nerves, stomach, and liver fluids. When there is an apparent excess of acid, it often indicates a deficiency in the alkaline Libra salt.
In alchemical terms, acid is symbolically represented as Satan (Saturn), while sodium phosphate embodies Christ (Neptune). Without the Christ principle, negativity (Satan) can overwhelm the human body, referred to as the "Holy Temple." The presence of Christ drives out evil, as symbolized in the scriptures: "Know ye not that your bodies are the Temple of the Living God?"
Solomon's temple serves as an allegory for the physical bodies of both men and women, signifying the soul's dwelling—an entity built without the sound of "saw or hammer."
Negative emotions such as hate, envy, criticism, jealousy, competition, selfishness, and violence can stem from acidic blood conditions. These conditions can cause chemical imbalances that irritate brain cells, affecting the soul's ability to express "Divine harmonies" and leading to destructive behaviors.
Without a proper balance of the Venus salt, which symbolizes peace and love, individuals may become susceptible to treachery and conflict.
In a world rife with conflict and turmoil, the need for the balancing alkaline properties of Libra salt is more critical than ever.
In biblical alchemy, Libra corresponds to Reuben, the first son of Jacob, symbolizing "Vision of the Sun." In the New Testament, Libra is linked to the disciple Peter. The name Peter is derived from "Petra," meaning stone or mineral. This is reflected in the phrase, "On thee, Peter (mineral), will I build my church," signifying the body or temple.
